Description

Short title: Ashton v Bold.

Plaintiff(s): Dame Ann Ashton, widow, Robert Chadderton.

Defendant(s): Peter Bold, Richard Leigh, Lawrence Rowsterne, Randle Pennington.

Subject of depositions: Plaintiff Ann's charges for the maintenance, of the defendant Peter Bold (after the death of his father Peter Bold and of his mother Joane Bold, who took for her second husband Thomas Owen, esq,), at Middleton, by Sir Ralph Ashton (plaintiff's late husband), and since by the plaintiff herself. Also touching the management of the estate of defendant Bold (during his minority) including manors, in Bold, Farnworth, Eccleston, Sutton, Bartonwood, and North Meales.

County/place: Lancashire.

Date of commission: 28 November 1684.

Additional information: interrogatories and depositions taken 16 January 1685 Warrington.
