Description

Short title: Attorney General v Warner.

Plaintiff(s): Sir Robert Sawyer, kt (Attorney General), at the relation of Dr John Nicholson, Doctor of Lawes, executor of the last will and testament of the late Reverend Father in God, William Lord Bishop of Gloucester, deceased.

Defendant(s): Thomas Warner.

Subject of depositions: Estate of William Warner, late of Pakenhill, in the parish of Stroud (Gloucestershire), clothier, late collector of the duty of hearth money in Worcester under Sir Richard Piggott, Perient Trott, and Humfrey Beane "grand farmers and collectors" of the duty under His Majesty. Touching the securities given by William Warner for the due execution of the office, and an extent upon his lands in Pakenhill. Also as to what lands he possessed in Haresfield, Standish, or elsewhere, in that county.

County/place: Gloucestershire; Worcestershire.

Date of commission: 28 November 1684.

Additional information: interrogatories and depositions taken 12 January 1685 at Stroud.
