Description

Short title: Attorney General v Manning.

Plaintiff(s): Sir Robert Sawyer, kt (Attorney General), on behalf of the Crown and of John Earl of Bath, and Robert Spencer, esq, his Ma'ties farmers of the duties of subsidie and aulnage.

Defendant(s): Samuel Manning, Martin Puckle, Benjamin Toft.

Subject of depositions: Duty of subsidy and aulnage for woollen or worsted hose demanded of the defendants (at the rate of 4d. or 4½d. for every 64 lbs. weight), and refused by them.

County/place: Norfolk.

Date of commission: 28 November 1683.

Additional information: interrogatories and depositions taken 17 January 1684 at Norwich.
