Description

Short title: Barton v Downes.

Plaintiff(s): Thomas Barton and his wife Elizabeth, administratrix of Edward Garland, deceased.

Defendant(s): Robert Downes and his wife Mary, James Reader, Ralph Reader, Stephen Stringer, Stephen Lee and his wife Jane, and Sarah Reader, (an infant), by said Robert her guardian.

Subject of depositions: Mortgage of a house at Milton near Sittingbourne, and the last will and testament of Thomas Reader, late of Hartlipp (late husband of defendant Mary), and Edward Garland, late of Milton aforesaid, grocer, deceased (late husband of plaintiff Elizabeth).

County/place: Kent.

Date of commission: 27 June 1683.

Additional information: interrogatories and depositions taken 25 October 1683 at Milton alias Middleton next Sittingbourne.
