Description

Short title: Crowther v Leigh.

Plaintiff(s): John Crowther and his wife Ellenor, Thomas Bramhall, Doctor in Physicke and his wife Mary.

Defendant(s): Henry Leigh, Richard Leigh, John Case, Thomas Cooke.

Subject of depositions: Lease of a capital house, situate in Little Wootton (Lancashire), commonly called Lee or Ormes. Tenement with the lands belonging, made by Sir Gilbert Ireland, late of Hutt (Lancashire), knight, and his wife Margaret to Edward Aspinwall, of Toxteth Park (Lancashire) (late father of plaintiffs Elinor and Mary), and the last will and testament of Dame Margaret Ireland aforesaid, widow of Sir Gilbert. [Mrs. Elinor Crompton, wife of Thomas Crompton, clerk, and formerly wife of Edward Aspinwall, is mentioned].

County/place: Lancashire.

Date of commission: 27 June 1683.

Additional information: interrogatories and depositions taken 11 September 1683 at Liverpool.
