Subject of depositions: Newnham Abbey, with the appurtenances (Bedford), said to have been purchased by "Old John Petre" of Margaretine (Essex). Whether the name of Sir Roger Martin was made use of by the Society of Jesuits in certain deeds about the disposition of Newnham Abbey from John Petre, and whether Sir Roger Martin was only a trustee therein for the Jesuits, and whether such estate was by him transferred to the defendant John Petre as a continuance of such trust in him, and that defendant is only a trustee in such estate for the Society and not at all concerned in his own right? etc.
