Description

Short title: Whitacre v Rookeby.

Plaintiff(s): Abel Whitacre, William Wilson, Joshua Crompton.

Defendant(s): Thomas Rookeby, Thomas Wytham, Mary Wytham, Maths. Sowerby. Robert Brookes, James Scholefield, Josh. Whitacre.

Subject of depositions: Execution of the offices of aulnager in Lancaster, and deputy aulnager in Manchester,Bolton, and Rochdale (Lancashire). Touching the sealing and weighing of cloths. Customs and usages. Duty upon weighing. Touching the manufacture of the several kinds of woollen cloths, cottons, fryzes, baies, pennystones, and ruggs within the county palatine of Lancaster, and the weights, lengths, and breadths, of same,.

County/place: Lancashire.

Date of commission: 22 June 1681.
