Description

Short title: Toller v Cooke.

Plaintiff(s): Stephen Toller, John Buttson, William Ceely, and John Bawdon, executors of John Sparke, in trust for Susan Sparke and Elizabeth Sparke, daughters of said John Sparke.

Defendant(s): Samuel Cooke, John Barber.

Subject of depositions: Manor of Ottery St Mary, and the ancient water corn-mills inthat town, commonly called the Town Mills. Whether parcel of the possessions of the late College of Ottery St Mary? Touching the custom of "suit and service" to the mills (i.e. grinding corn, etc.).

County/place: Devon.

Date of commission: 30 June 1680.

Additional information: interrogatories and depositions taken 19 October 1680 at Ottery St Mary.
