Description

Short title: Cullyer v Meade.

Plaintiff(s): Robert Cullyer.

Defendant(s): Thomas Meade, Thomas Stephens, John Garlicke, clerk.

Subject of depositions: Penc'ons or porc'ons (for tithes) payable out of the "impropriation of Swaffham" and the rectory or parsonage of Wells (Norfolk) to the Bishop of Norwich. Also touching a demise and grant made by "Edmond, sometime Bishop of Norwich, to Her Ma'tie Elizabeth late Queen of England of all the penc'ons or porc'ons of tithes belonging to said bishoprick, situate and being in the cos. of Norf. and Suff. for the term of eighty years, at and under the rent of five and forty pounds nyne shillings and tenn pence to the said Bishop and his successors" and "that the same Queen did assign the same" to Sir Thomas Heneage, kt, deceased, and Sir Thomas did demise the same by his will in writing unto Mary his wife, Countess Dowager of Southampton, since deceased (and her executors), who afterwards intermarried with William Lord Harvey (who "overlived" her), who assigned the premises by indenture dated 16 May, 16 James I to his son William Harvey, who granted the same to his sisters Elizabeth, Dorothy, and Helena Harvey, who (Elizabeth and Helena) granted the same to Augustine Cullyer (late of Norwich City, publique notary), plaintiff's uncle, deceased. [Robert Cullyer, late of Great Yarmouth (Norfolk), deceased (plaintiff's late father), is mentioned].
