Description

Short title: Baker v Attorney General.

Plaintiff(s): James Baker, Sir Henry Oxendine, kt, Thomas Panton, Nicholas Cooke, the elder, Nicholas Cooke, the younger, James Axtell.

Defendant(s): Sir Heneage Finch, kt and bart (Attorney - General), Edward Ventner, Doctor of Lawes.

Subject of depositions: Family of Baker, in Old Cleeve (Somerset), and RobertBaker, by trade a tailor, late of St Martin-in-the-Fields (Middlesex). Whether he belonged to that family? Defendant Baker claims heirship to Robert and to Mrs Mary Oxendine, deceased.

County/place: Somerset.

Date of commission: 12 February 1672.

Additional information: interrogatories and depositions taken 23 March 1672 at Brewton.
