Description

Short title: Whyle v le Grosse.

Plaintiff(s): Samuel Whyle.

Defendant(s): Thomas le Grosse.

Subject of depositions: Lands in Norfolk and Suffolk settled by Sir Miles Hobart, K.B. upon the Lady Margaret his wife (daughter of Edward Lord Dudley) for her jointure, and "lands, rectories, and tithes in Stafford and Worcester" belonging to Sir Miles. Touching the purchase (by plaintiff) from Lady Margaret Hobart (relict of Sir Miles) and James Hobart their son, of "certain lands, the rectory and tithes of Rowley Regis, in the cos. of Stafford and Worcester." [Edward Lord Dudley, William Ward (who purchased the estate of Edward), Henry Lord Windsor, and his son Thomas Lord Windsor, are mentioned].

County/place: Norfolk; Suffolk; Staffordshire; Worcestershire.

Date of commission: 12 February 1669.

Additional information: interrogatories and depositions taken 22 April 1669 at Ipswich.
