Description

Short title: Delabere v Ellis.

Plaintiff(s): John Delabere.

Defendant(s): Guy Ellis.

Subject of depositions: Manor of Southam, in the parish of Bishops Cleeve, said to have been granted by James I. (by Letters Patent, 9 July, 2 James I to Peter Vanlore and William Blake), as parcel of the Duchy of Lancaster; and a grant of the manor by James I (15 December 5 James I) to Robert Earl of Salisbury and grant of the tithes of Southam, by Letters Patent of Queen Elizabeth to Edward Darbysheare and John Beare. Whether the manor was parcel of the late monastery of Lanthony (Gloster)? Tithes.

County/place: Gloster.

Date of commission: 13 February 1664.

Additional information: interrogatories and depositions taken 7 April 1664 at Cheltenham.
