Description

Short title: Attorney General v Dickenson.

Plaintiff(s): Sir Geoffrey Palmer, kt and bart (Attorney General).

Defendant(s): Thomas Dickenson, late one of the aldermen of the city of York, and sometime Lord Mayor.

Subject of depositions: Monies received by defendant (as mayor of York), and at other times by virtue of an Act of 17 Charles 1 intituled "An Act for raising "and levying moneys for the necessary defence and great affaires of the kingdom, by virtue whereof the sum of £400,000 was appointed to be raised" and £17,380 6s 6d out of York.

County/place: Yorkshire.

Date of commission: 28 November 1663.

Additional information: interrogatories and depositions taken 9 January 1664 at York.
