Description

Short title: Peirce v Noel.

Plaintiff(s): Edmund Peirce, Robert Foley.

Defendant(s): Sir Martin Noel, kt, and the Attorney General.

Subject of depositions: Farming (by plaintiffs of defendant Noel) of the "duties of excise and new impost due and payable for and upon all inland and native iron, whether wrought or cast, within England and Wales and town of Berwick." Touching defendants' admission (by the Crown) to composition for arrears of rent of farms of such excise.

County/place: Shropshire.

Date of commission: 12 February 1663.

Additional information: interrogatories and depositions taken 11 April 1663 at Bridgnorth.
