Description

Short title: Attorney General v Mead.

Plaintiff(s): Sir Jeffrey Palmer, kt and bart (Attorney General).

Defendant(s): Richard Mead, William Meade, Joshua Woolnoe.

Subject of depositions: Manors of Leighton Bussard, Grovebury Stewkley, Radnash, Bow, Brickell, Studham, the hambletts of Billington, Eggington, Clipston Heath and Reach, and Stonebridge, Edlesbro' and Slapton. (Bedford and Buckinghamshire), formerly in the possession of Thomas Lord Leigh, Baron of Stoneleigh, in Warwick, by lease from the dean and canons of the King's Free Chapel of St George, in the Castle of Winsor, to Francis Burnham, George and John Barnes. Touching the sale of the premises by Lord Leigh to John Okey, of Brogboro' Park, in the parish of Ridgment (Bedfordshire) (said to be one of the regicides of the late king), and the defendants. Assignment of Okey's fourth part of the premises to the defendants.

County/place: Bedfordshire; Buckinghamshire; Berkshirehire; Warwickshire.

Date of commission: 12 February 1662.

Additional information: interrogatories and depositions taken 3 April 1662 at Leighton Beaudesert alias Leighton Bussard.
