Description

Short title: Attorney General v Childers.

Plaintiff(s): Sir John Banks, kt (Attorney General), by information, on behalf of Sir William Savile, bart Sir John Ramsden, kt, Lucas Corsellis, John Farrer, Sir Phillibert Vernot, kt and bart Sir James Campbell, kt, Francis Neville, Matthew Falkenbro'.

Defendant(s): Francis Childers.

Subject of depositions: Manors of Brampton and Hatfield (Yorkshire). Marsh grounds called "Close Carr" and a grant from the Crown dated 2 Chas I to Sir Cornelius Vermuyden of a third part of waste and "surrounded and drowned grounds" on condition of his draining them.

County/place: Yorkshire.

Date of commission: June 1638.

Additional information: interrogatories and depositions taken 2 October 1638 at Doncaster.
