Description

Short title: Earl of Arundel v Henderson.

Plaintiff(s): Thomas Earl of Arundel and Surrey, Earl Marshal of England.

Defendant(s): Robert Henderson, George Carne, Thomas Tiffin, William Ritson, John Scott, John Hodgson, John Smalwood, Thomas Ritson, John Pearson, John Pattinson, George Skelton, Robert Lawson, and others, tenants of the barony of Bourgh.

Subject of depositions: Barony of Bourgh (including the manors of Aicketon, Bourgh, Rowcliffe, Thursby, Drumbough, and Panton), forfeited to the Crown (Queen Elizabeth) by the attainder of Francis Dacre. Customs of manor. Common of pasture.

County/place: Cumberland.

Date of commission: 28 November 1631.

Additional information: interrogatories and depositions taken 23 January 1632 at Carlisle.
