Description

Short title: Mayor of Chester v Singleton.

Plaintiff(s): Mayor and citizens of the city of Chester.

Defendant(s): William Singleton.

Subject of depositions: Right and title of the mayor, burgesses, and citizens of Chester to the rents of the whole or half "pryses" of wines of ships arriving within any ports of the county palatine of Chester, or thecity of Chester, or the suburbs thereof. Value of Sack and Gascony wines in the years 1615, 1616, 1617, and 1618. [The possessions of Nicholas Ince are mentioned].

County/place: Cheshire.

Date of commission: 12 February 1622.
