Description

Short title: Browne v Astwith.

Plaintiff(s): Salomon Browne.

Defendant(s): Michael Astwith, James Moore.

Subject of depositions: Office of bailiwick of the liberties and franchises of the Archbishop of York, and the receipt of"fines, amerciaments, forfeitures, or other greenwax within any of the liberties of Tobias Lord Archbishop of York" by"color of a pretended grant made by Archbishop Hutton.","which (forfeitures, etc) indeed were due to the King's Ma'tie." [A grant by the late Archbishop of York, 20 October 1605, to John Priestley and Thomas Concett, of the office of bailiwick of all his grace's liberties and franchises within the counties of York and Notts, is mentioned].

County/place: Yorkshire; Nottinghamshire.

Date of commission: 12 February 1622.
