Description

Short title: Maunsell v Retherch.

Plaintiff(s): Sir Robert Maunsell, kt, Vice-Admiral of England.

Defendant(s): Rice Retherch, Richard Phillips.

Subject of depositions: Castle of Tallaugharne alias Laugharne, and messuages, in the parishes of Laugharne, Lansadurnen, and Kiffig, and the park of Kiffig. Alleged disturbing and disquieting of plaintiff in the possession of such premises by defendants. Value of premises. [A lease of the castle, etc. by Queen Elizabeth, 13th June, 39 Elizabeth to Robt, late Earl of Essex, assigned by him to Sir Henry Linley, kt, and Thomas Crompton, esq, and by them to Rice Phillips, esq, of Lamphey (Pembrokeshire); grant of the premises, 21 February 2 James I by the King to William Lord Knollis, Sir Robert Vernon, kt, Sir Henry Williams, kt, and Henry Finch, then esq, and now kt and Serjeant-at-law, for the life of Dorothy, then Countess of Northumberland, and demise by defendants to Sir John Phillips, kt and bart are mentioned].
