Description

Short title: Mayor of Chester v Singleton.

Plaintiff(s): Mayor and citizens of the city of Chester.

Defendant(s): William Singleton.

Subject of depositions: Right and title of plaintiffs to "prisage of wines of any ships arriving within the ports of the county palatine of Chester of the city of Chester." Whether no impost was paid before the present King's reign over England? What were Gascon wines worth, per tun, in 1615, 1616, 1617, and 1618?.

County/place: Cheshire.

Date of commission: 12 February 1621.
