Description

Short title: Attorney General v Weaver.

Plaintiff(s): Attorney General.

Defendant(s): Robert Weaver, Richard Weaver.

Subject of depositions: Deed made by Robert, late Earl of Essex, granting the impost of sweet wines in London for three years to Sir Gelly Meyrick, Thomas Crompton, and Henry Lyndley. Whether Edward Weaver (defendant's brother, deceased), servant of Sir Gelly, concealed part of the profits of the impost from his master, and also received the third year's profits? Whether he acknowledged that he owed Sir Gelly £2,532 10s 5d for the third part? Touching the history of Edward and his business transactions with his master. [Lands in Ware (Hertfordshire), conveyed to Edward in trust for his master, and Rowland Meyrick, of Glandestrie, son of Sir Gelly, are mentioned].

Date of commission: 28 November 1620.
