Description

Short title: Lord Howard v Charleton.

Plaintiff(s): Theophilus, Lord Howard de Walden and Elizabeth his wife.

Defendant(s): John Charleton, Edward Charleton, of Haslehurst, Jasper Charleton, James Dodd, the younger, Michael Ridley, Reynold Charleton, Ambrose Charleton.

Subject of depositions: Manor and lordship of Warke, in Tindall, lands in Warkeand Bellingham, and Tindall, and the toll of the fairs and markets in Bellingham. Touching the custom of customary or tenant right and other customs. Survey. Was the manor formerly parcel of the demesne of the Crown of England, and after of Henry Earl of Essex? [The possessions of the Earl of Northumberland and Mr Heron, of Chipchase, are mentioned].

County/place: Northumberland.

Date of commission: 5 July 1620.
