Description

Short title: Attorney General v Leeke.

Plaintiff(s): Attorney General, by the relation of Henry Valentine, Gilbert Haslabie, Thomas Taylor.

Defendant(s): James Leeke.

Subject of depositions: Manor of Balderton "in antient times the Busshines and Allens, afterwards the Forsters', and now the defts." Also touching the manor of Newark-upon-Trent. Whether Balderton is a manor of itself or parcel of Newark? Do the tenants of Balderton pay the tithes as tenants of Newark Castle to the prebendary of Stoke? Metes and bounds of the manors of Balderton and Claypoole. Customs of Balderton Manor. [Anthony and Giles Forster and Mr Clarkson, former lords of Balderton Manor, the lands of Thomas Helnish, and lands of Stephen Jaques, in Farndon, are mentioned].
