Description

Short title: Hobart v Countess of Arundel.

Plaintiff(s): Henry Hobart (Attorney General), on behalf of Sir John Cary, kt, Baron Hunsdon.

Defendant(s): Anne Countess of Arundel, William (Lord) Howard, and the Lady Elizabeth his wife, John Holland, John Cornwallis, Robert Cansfeild, Thomas Ward.

Subject of depositions: Validity of and execution of a deed of feoffment, dated 1 October 4 and 5 Phillip and Mary, and made by John Lord Dacre (deceased) unto Thomas Dacre and Leonard Dacre his sons, of all his manors, in the counties of Cumberland, Westmorland, Northumberland, county palatine of Durham and York; whether "livery and seisin" had been made thereupon or not. [The names and possessions of Sir James Strangways, John Dacre, clerk, suits in Chancery (about the year 28 Eliz) between Phillip, late Earl of Arundel and Lord William Howard, in right of the wives, of George late Lord Dacre, of Gilsland, and Graystock v. Francis Dacre, esq, "by reason of said pretended deed of feofment" and another suit about the year 29 Eliz, Anthony Rumney v. George Turner, for lands at Ulgham (Northumberland), are mentioned].
