Description

Short title: Jenison v Smith.

Plaintiff(s): William Jenison, John Jenison.

Defendant(s): George Smith.

Subject of depositions: Marriage settlement of Margaret Smith with the late William Smith, of Esh alias Ash (Durham) (defendant's parents). Touching a deed of gift made by William of all his lands before joining the rebels in the North, and feoffment of such lands in Walworth, Woodham, and Nunstainton. Also touching the jointure of his wife, who brought to him the lordship of Esh, farms in Herrington, and tenements in Barmeton (Durham). [The possessions of Lady Tempest, Ralph Hutton, Cuthbert Smith, Margaret Hindmerch, widow, daughter and co-heir of Anthony Ash alias Eshe, lands in Walworth and Woodham forfeited by Sir William Drury for his rebellion in the North, and value of lands called Brettenbie, Forsytt, Westallock (Yorkshire), and the possessions of John Wytham, of Cliff (Yorkshire), are mentioned].
