Description

Short title: Kingsmill v Lewis.

Plaintiff(s): Lady Sarah Kingsmill, widow of Sir George Kingsmill, kt.

Defendant(s): Barnaby Lewis.

Subject of depositions: Parsonage of Midsomer Norton and Chuton. Whether is the hamlet of Welton ( "wherein some tithes are now in controversie ") part of the parish of Midsomer Norton, and to what parsonage the Welton tithes have been paid. [The possessions of Mr Justice Kingsmill, possessor of Chuton Parsonage, of George Cowper, and of Hugh Rudge, gentlemen, and a grant by the late Queen Elizabeth of the parsonage of Chewton to Roger Manners, at a fee-farm rent of £20 are mentioned].

County/place: Somerset.

Date of commission: 27 June 1610.
