Description

Short title: Johnson v Becke.

Plaintiff(s): Launcelot Johnson.

Defendant(s): Henry Becke.

Subject of depositions: Lands in Awstrey otherwise Aldestrye, purchased by Robert Becke, defendant's father, of Thomas Fowke, of Brewood (Staffordshire). Touching evidences of such purchase. [A counterpart of bargain and sale, dated 26 September 16 Eliz, between Becke and Fowke; a fine, dated 22 Henry VII, between William Wyrley and other plaintiffs and John Wyrley and other defendants, of the manor of Aston, and of other lands in Stafford, and in Sutton and Aldestre (Warwickshire); an indenture, dated 28 March 23 Henry VII, between William Leycetor and William Wyrley; also an old rental of William Leycetor, of Aston-in-Colfeld, dated 1 Henry [defective]; a will of William Leycetor, dated November 14 Henry VIII; a lease, dated 20 April 37 Henry VIII [defective], between Alleyn Hord, Ann Leycetor, widow, and William Beck; a chief rent to Lord Clinton; a lease, dated 10 January [?] Eliz, between Thomas Hord and [defective]; a chief rent to Sir Walter Aston; an indenture, dated 2 August 16 Eliz, between Thomas Hord and others and Thomas Fowke, touching the manor of Aston, and other lands in Stafford, and lands in Awstrey otherwise Aldestrey, and a fine, dated 27 September 16 Eliz, between Thomas Fowke and Robert Beck, of lands in Awstrey, are mentioned].
