Subject of depositions: Lordship of Newsame and Westholme, in the county palatine of Durham, the inheritance of William Headlam; whether they are one entire lordship; whether an annual rent of £6 13s 4d was paid to Charles Earl of Westmorland, andhis ancestors before his attainder, and since to the Crown. Did John Dowthwaite, uncle to defendant, hold same of Hedlam or of Mr Ralph Bowes and wife, daughter of Hedlam. Metes and bounds. Survey. [The names of places called Newsom Beck and Alwent Moore are mentioned].
