Description

Short title: Knollys v Beaconsaw.

Plaintiff(s): Sir Francis Knollys and Isaac Cray alias Crea, his servant.

Defendant(s): Peter Beaconsaw.

Subject of depositions: Execution of two warrants from the Lord Chamberlain Hunsdon, directed to Sir Thomas Knollys, to search for the recusants Jarrett and Garrett (seminary priests or Jesuits) in the house of Francis Parkins (a recusant) in Ufton, and for the money for their maintenance, and defendant's claim to the money. [The names of Thomas Parkins, Richard Earley, Francis Moore, Ellys Gayler, Mr Woodes, Richard Parkins, Mr Bland, Mr Duffeld, and farms belonging to defendant, called Bourclure and Earlestone, are mentioned].

County/place: Berkshire.

Date of commission: 12 February 1608.

Additional information: interrogatories and depositions taken 25 March 1608 at Reading.
