Description

Short title: Elwood v Jewetson.

Plaintiff(s): William Elwood.

Defendant(s): Margaret Jewetson.

Subject of depositions: Right and title to a messuage and three oxgangs of arable land in Middleton-in-the-Would, formerly belonging to the dissolved chantry of St John the Evangelist, in the Cathedral Church of York. Grant of same to Peter Mease by Queen Elizabeth, and by Mease to Christopher Jewitson (defendant's father). Survey. [The names of William Stephenson, Thomas Elwood, and William Wilkinson, of Middleton, are mentioned].
