Description

Short title: Attorney General v Carewe.

Plaintiff(s): Attorney General.

Defendant(s): Richard Carewe, John Grove, Richard Coxe, Thomas Bates, and Isabella his wife.

Subject of depositions: Messuage and Three Yard lands in Donington, late in the tenure of Zachary Field. Did John Halsey, a recusant, take the profits thereof? Did he buy trees in Woolford Wood? Did he agree to sell same messuage, to William Chadwell, the elder, of Bradwell? Was the messuage conveyed to John Grove? What is become of goods of Halsey late in Donington? Did he possess farms called Pepwell, in the parish of Hartlebury (Worcestershire), and Coobeleys, in the parish of Tardebick (Warwickshire)? Touching purchase of mills in Parshore, and of an annuity issuing out of the manor of Binholm, in the parish of Pershore (Worcestershire), by Halsey, of Mr George Dale, D.C.L. and purchase by Henry Russell, of Little Malvern, and Halsey, of Thomas and Edmund Wrenford, of land called "Lowshurst" in Estner (Herefordshire), and of land in Ledbury and Colwell (Herefordshire). Touching also money borrowed by John Hartland (of the parish of Colwall) of Halsey, upon lands in Colwell otherwise Colwall (Herefordshire); also purchase of part of "Alton Wood" by Halsey. All of which were said to be conveyed to John Grove in trust for Halsey. Survey. Recusants' lands.
