Description

Short title: Mayor of Bristol v Morgan.

Plaintiff(s): Mayor, of Bristol, Thomas Pitte, gent, chamberlain of said city, Thomas Bassett.

Defendant(s): Thomas Morgan, Thomas Smithe.

Subject of depositions: Port of Bristol, and its rivers, etc. Touching the maintenance of posts in the harbour for mooring shipping, and in Crokern Pill especially. Also touching the bounds, of city of Bristol; the manors of Portbury and Easton in Gordane otherwise St George's (Somerset), the inheritance of Henry Lord Berkeley and the defendant Morgan. Hath the defendant Morgan the inheritance of the ferry across the Avon from Gloucester to Somerset? Customs of port. Metes and bounds. Survey. [The names of the port of Hungrode (member of Bristol), manor of Leigh (Somerset), Samuel Norton, William Burd, mayor of Bristol, (Rowneham), and "Pills" in the harbour, are mentioned].
