Description

Short title: Norwood v Cartwright.

Plaintiff(s): William Norwood, William Whithorne, Richard Hale.

Defendant(s): Thomas Cartwright, Richard Cartwright.

Subject of depositions: Manor and parsonage of Cheltenham. Touching lands in Charlton Kings in such manor, lately held in base tenure by Edith Johnson, said to be escheated to the King for want ofheirs. Customs of manor. Touching also lands in Ham, held by Edith in base tenure of the manor of Asheley, escheated to William Grevill for want of heirs. Tithes. [The names of places in the manors, called Cunley Stream, Ham Hill, Colesyate Hill, The Plockes, Ocumbes, Tenne Lands are mentioned.] Do the tithes of Charlton Kings, Ham, Northfield, Cheltenham, Welstall, Naunton, Sandford, Alston, and Arle belong to the parsonage of Cheltenham and chapel of Charlton Kings annexed? Survey.

County/place: Gloucestershire.

Date of commission: 12 February 1607.
