Description

Short title: Bennell v Langtoe.

Plaintiff(s): William Bennell.

Defendant(s): Thomas Langtoe.

Subject of depositions: Bailiwick of Dunstable. The committal of plaintiff to the Marshalsea by the Lord Chamberlain Hunsdon, at the instigation of his servant, Thomas Langtoe (defendant), and the entry of Thomas into the bailiwick, of which he took the tolls in the 26th Elizabeth, and a bond procured from plaintiff in £200 not to meddle in the bailiwick until he had recovered it by law, etc. The bailiwick worth £20 a year. [The names of Henry Bennell, John Baker, John Norton, and - Sory, are mentioned].

County/place: Bedfordshire.

Date of commission: 9 July 1606.
