Description

Short title: Mayor of Oxford v Porye.

Plaintiff(s): The mayor, bailiffs, and commonalty of the city of Oxford.

Defendant(s): Peter Porye, Thomas Jherome, Richard Jerome, William Jerome, Alexander Hill.

Subject of depositions: Mills called the"Castle Mills" whether they are in the town of Oxford or in St George's parish outside? Was a moiety thereof belonging to the Bishop of Oxford or to the abott of Oseney? Touching the common bakers of the university and city grinding their corn at a new mill there contrary to custom. Survey.

County/place: Oxfordshireshire.

Date of commission: 12 February 1606.
