Description

Short title: Egerton v Beckett.

Plaintiff(s): Dame Elizabeth Egerton, widow.

Defendant(s): Thomas Beckett.

Subject of depositions: Ancient messuage and lands in Clayteford; whether held of the King as parcel of the late Hospital of St John of Jerusalem, in England? Has a rent of 12d been usually paid for same? Did the farmer thereof do suit at St John's Court, in the town of Middlewick? Office of constable. Customs of manor. Does the defendant pay to Thomas Venables, esq, Baron of Kindarton, a pair of gloves yearly in the name of a chief? Is the ancient rent thereof 33s 4d. Were they purchased by defendant of Francis Bamwill, deceased? Survey.

County/place: Cheshire.
