Description

Short title: Morgan v Herbert.

Plaintiff(s): Anne Morgan and Hugh her husband.

Defendant(s): Sir Edward Herbert and Mary his wife.

Subject of depositions: Right and title to lands, of Lewis Thomas, said to have been extended for a debt to Giles Morgan, and made over to Sir Henry Jones, with reversion to Sir Edward Herbert and Mary (defendants). Touching legitimacy of birth of Thomas Lewis, son of Lewis Thomas aforesaid, and Anne Morgan. His daughter's power to inherit. The lands are called "Yessichock ", "Cay y vadocke ", "The Allte ", "The Tythe of Rogerston" lying near Newport. Survey. [The names of Sir William Herbert, Lady Florence Herbert, Thomas Lewis, son of Lewis Thomas, and others, are mentioned].

Date of commission: 12 February 1605.
