Description

Short title: Attorney General v Bostock.

Plaintiff(s): Attorney General.

Defendant(s): Ralph Bostock, Randle Vernon the elder, Humfry Whittingham, Randle Poole, Randle Hulse, Robert Warrell, Raffe Walley, Oliver Vernon, Charles Mainwaring, Thomas Yates, Randle Pickmeir, Robert Horton, William Venables, William Bealy, Randle Vernon, the younger, Hugh Snelson, Thomas Buckley, and others.

Subject of depositions: Burges courts (bylaws made therein by Sir Thomas Venables). Occupying and walling salt and toll of stallage, in the town of Middlewich, and manor and borough. Also touching brine pits in Middlewich. Survey. [The names of Thomas Venables, Lady Elizabeth Egerton, and William Whalley, are mentioned].

County/place: Cheshire.

Date of commission: 12 February 1605.

Additional information: interrogatories and depositions taken 11 March 1605 at Middlewich, delivered into Court 13 April 1605.
