Description

Short title: Shortland v Peacock.

Plaintiff(s): Thomas Shortland.

Defendant(s): Ralph Peacock, John Hurde, James Hutchinson, Robert Scott, George Wynn, Thomas Waggett.

Subject of depositions: Intackes or inclosed grounds in Arkengarthdale (Arkilgarth Dale, otherwise Arkengarth Dale, otherwise Arkendale), Foggergill, Pimshort, Holgate, otherwise Helwith, Halgate, and Keckswith. Whether same were encroachments on Queen Elizabeth's new forest in which defendants had common of pasture? Whether inhabitants of Bowes and Fremington had licence to inclose common? Customs of manors. Tithes rent paid to Crown for intacke, called Smythyshawe, and for mill built upon waste in Arkengarthdale. Survey.
