Description

Short title: Coke v Charlton.

Plaintiff(s): Edward Coke, Attorney General.

Defendant(s): Andrew Charlton.

Subject of depositions: Manors of Wheaton Aston alias Aston Eyre, and Great Withiford (Shropshire), and lands in Great Wythyford, Wheaton Aston, Harcourt, Wellington, Muckleton, Edgbolton, late of William Charlton (son of Francis Charlton), deceased, father of Elizabeth Charlton, who married Edward Bridgman (a "recusant "). Touching the lands (among others) forfeited by Edward Bridgman.

County/place: Shropshire.

Date of commission: 29 November 1602.

Additional information: interrogatories and depositions taken 25 January 1603 at the house of William Charlton in Uekington.
