Description

Short title: Jenkinson v Davenant.

Plaintiff(s): Henry Jenkinson.

Defendant(s): Edward Davenant, John Coxe, Richard Pickworth, Henry White, Robert Bowth, John Taylor, Robert Pett, John Ireland, Robert Johnson, Robert Maddison, James Goldesboro', William Christopher, the inhabitants of Heckington.

Subject of depositions: Towns of Heckinton and Garwick, a close called "The Stray Close" a fen or marsh called "The East Fenn" in Heckington, and the common fields of those towns. Metes and bounds. Common of pasture. Survey. [The Duke of Norfolk, lord of the manor, Anthony Cawdron, and Anthony Edward Brocklesby, farmers of the fen, a lease of the premises to Messrs. Dix and Cautrell, another to Messrs. Wigmore and Williams, and a grange or hamlet in Heckington, called Winckhill, are mentioned].

County/place: Lincolnshire; Norfolk.

Date of commission: 22 June 1602.
