Description

Short title: Berrington v Caver.

Plaintiff(s): Thomas Berrington, Thomas Purcell, William Paslow.

Defendant(s): Richard Caver, Thomas Corne, Edward Clunne.

Subject of depositions: Right and title to the farm of Acton (Shropshire); whether parcel of the lordship of Clonne, and lying within the township of Down and Acton (Shropshire); whether leased by Queen Elizabeth to Rowland Vaughan, Edmund Abdy, and Thomas Hungerford, and by them to plaintiffs Berrington and Purcell. Touching the payment of rent (46s. 8d. per annum) to the Crown for the farm. Custom of the honor of Clonne as regards the election, of "Reves." [The names of Elizabeth Bright, Griffith Bright, John Bridge, of North Lidbury, Frances Plowden, and Edmund Plowden, are mentioned].

County/place: Shropshire.

Date of commission: 28 November 1601.

Additional information: interrogatories and depositions taken 7 January 1602 at Bishop's Castle.
