Subject of depositions: "Usk Mills" held by plaintiff of the Crown, and three closes of land in the parish of Battell (Brecon), leased by Robert Manwood, DD, prior of the late priory of St John the Evangelist, in Brecon, by deed, dated 4 July 14 Henry VIII, to William ap Jevan David and his wife Agnes verch Richard, "reserving sute of curte sute" to the mills of the priory called "Usk Mills" and granted by the Queen by Letters Patent under Great Seal under date 13 December 30 Eliz to the plaintiff and John Meredith (plaintiff's son), and to his daughter Katherine. Alleged refusal of defendants to do "suit and service" to the mills.
