Description

Short title: Bishop of Chichester v Rodney.

Plaintiff(s): Anthony Bishop of Chichester, Her Majesty's almoner.

Defendant(s): John Rodney, Rice Davis, and his wife Dorothy, administratrix of the goods and chattels of Sir George Rodney, deceased.

Subject of depositions: Last will and testament of Sir George Rodney, kt, who killed himself at the George Inn at Amesbury (Wiltshire), on the 1 July last; whether Sir George was mad at the time of his death. Touching a visit of Sir George (made just before his death) to the Earl of Hertford.

County/place: Wiltshire.

Date of commission: 28 November 1601.

Additional information: interrogatories and depositions taken 15 January 1602 at Amesbury.
