Description

Short title: Smith v Beale.

Plaintiff(s): Ambrose Smith, William Quicklove, Geoffrey Speechley.

Defendant(s): Godfrey Beale, John Boyse.

Subject of depositions: Grounds in Whittlesea, in the Isle of Ely (Cambridgeshire), called the "Goores" or leavings of the "Furlongs" and common grounds called "The Horse Pasture ", "The Nine Dolvers" and "Calves Croft" etc; touching the disposal of and value of the hay or fodder growing on these premises. [Michael Beale ( "Her Majesty's bailiff "), and a suit, Ralph Boyse v. the Bishop of Ely, "for watering of hemp and flax" are mentioned].

County/place: Cambridgeshire.

Date of commission: 28 November 1599.

Additional information: interrogatories and depositions taken 28 January 1600 at Whittlesey.
