Description

Short title: Rodes v Streaton.

Plaintiff(s): Henry Rodes, searcher of the port of Sandwich, and its members (appointed by Letters Patent under Great Seal).

Defendant(s): William Streaton, mayor of Rochester City, Thomas Waters, William Cobham, and others.

Subject of depositions: Office of searchership of the town of Sandwich, and its members (Kent). Whether Rochester City is under such searchership. Alleged resistance of defendants to the authority of plaintiff and his deputies in that city.

County/place: Kent.

Date of commission: 18 June 1599.

Additional information: interrogatories and depositions taken 30 August 1599 at Sittingborne.
