Description

Short title: Styward v Jervis.

Plaintiff(s): Thomas Styward, son of William and grandson of Nicholas Styward.

Defendant(s): Thomas Jervis.

Subject of depositions: Right and title to a farm in Ely, called "Bartone Farme" parcel of the Bishopric of Ely. Rent of tolls in Ely Fair, held by lease by Nicholas Styward, grandfather, and William Styward, father of plaintiff, of Thomas Goodrick, late Bishop of Ely; whether the farms called "New Bernes ", "Bedwelhay" and "Cheteham Bushes" are parcel of the farm. Touching a new lease granted by the Crown to defendant.

County/place: Cambridgeshire.

Date of commission: 12 May 1599.

Additional information: interrogatories and depositions taken 1 June 1599 at Ely.
