Description

Short title: Haydon v Fowlinge.

Plaintiff(s): Robert Haydon, Humfrey Walrond.

Defendant(s): Humfrey Fowlinge, Alexander Terlinge, Richard Channon, Nicholas Forward.

Subject of depositions: Corporation founded by Henry VIII and called in His Letters Patent "Quatuor Gubernatores hereditamentor' et bonor' Eccl'ie be' Marie de Ottery in com' Devon" and persons "associated to the said corporation for their assistance according to certain articles indented, made in the reign of King Edward VI." Touching the execution of the articles, etc. Tithes, etc. [Ralph Mayneweringe, late "vicar preacher" of Ottery, Anthony Saunders, Thomas Braddon, Richard Parke, Peter Bartowe, and Sir Thomas Dennys, are mentioned].

County/place: Devon.

Date of commission: 28 November 1597.

Additional information: interrogatories and depositions taken 7 January 1598 at Ottery St Mary.
