Description

Short title: Jewytson v Elwood.

Plaintiff(s): Christopher Jewytson.

Defendant(s): William Elwood, John Mansell.

Subject of depositions: Right and title to a tenement, sheep gaits, in Middleton (Yorkshire); whether granted by the Queen to Peter Mease, by Letters Patent, dated at Westminster, 11 July 36 Eliz, at a yearly rent of 26s 8d and leased by said Peter to plaintiff; whether parcel of the late chantry of St John the Evangelist in the "metropolitical" church of York.

County/place: Yorkshire.

Date of commission: 21 November 1597.

Additional information: interrogatories and depositions taken 18 January 1598 at Wighton.
